Delectable & Super Easy Fruit Pizza

Ava has been asking me for weeks to make her a fruit pizza. I don’t quite remember how the two of us got started on this plan, but as soon as she heard it was such a thing, she had to have it. Fruit fills her love bucket she tells me. Ok, fruit pizza it is.

I will start off with saying this is NOT the most healthy recipe we have over here.


  • Sugar Cookie dough – I made my own, but any store bought roll will do.
  • Cream Cheese
  • Sour Cream
  • Powder Sugar
  • Fruit* – any and all kinds!

I chose strawberries, blueberries, watermelon, cantaloupe, and peaches. A few of our family faves and they are all in season in MN right now.

First, prep and cook the sugar cookie dough according to the recipe. I typically bake in the oven a few minutes less than the time suggests. It will continue to bake a little on the pan and you don’t want it over cooked.

I used a cookie sheet and rolled out the dough into a circle – think pizza here. This was a future mistake. If I did it again I’d use a pie or cake pan.

As the dough was baking I worked on chopping up the fruit. I aimed for small thin slices so it wasn’t cumbersome or too difficult to eat.


Blueberries were left whole. I wasn’t about to attempt chopping those babies.

Once the fruit was chopped, I worked on the “pizza” sauce. This is where my recipe gets a little free for all-ish. Like a lot of my baking, I’m told. I used soften cream cheese mixed with sour cream and powdered sugar. It was about 4 parts sour cream to 1 part cream cheese. I then added the sugar until it was sweet but not overbearing. It was a “to taste” idea. Then refrigerate.

By this time, the sugar cookie should be finished baking. Take it out, let it cool, and slide it on serving dish. This was the mistake. It was warm and a disaster to attempt moving. I had some recovery work to do.


Looks great there …. didn’t quite stay that way. Oops.

Then spread your sauce, add your toppings, and ta da! Fruit pizza!
