Happy 1st Birthday

Our dear wild child, Harv,

This has been the fastest year of our life! It is unbelievable you are 1 today! You bring so much joy and love to all of us we’re thrilled you chose us to be your family.

Not every day is perfect, in fact until recently you’d love to have a mini party with mom every 2 am. Some days Dad got to join in, too. In case you didn’t realize it, we’re too old for that now. Your sleep schedule is nothing to brag about and you’ve got this crazy temper when you don’t get this way. Terrible twos are very frightening for Daddy and me.

BUT you also are the best eater we have! You eat all your fruits and veggies and pretty much anything we put on your plate and you love nursing and have always been a champ with it! You can eat dairy now and have ZERO problems with it!! You love using the mini silverware set Grandma got you, because you get to be a big kid. Some of your faves include tacos, spaghetti, organic yogurt and crackers.  Just like I mentioned before about the crazy temper, well it carries into food and you can get hangry with the best of them. Dad says it comes from me. I’ve never disagreed..

You haven’t taken your first steps yet, but we’re not worried. You can stand, walk around the furniture, and hold hands and walk. We’re not worried because you’re smart, you’ve figured out crawling and someone holding you gets you what you want faster. Plus I’m not ready for you to walk yet. Take your time 😉

You love to talk to all of us! You join right in on the chaos any chance you get. You formally say Mama, Dada, Ja (for Jack) and working on hi and Carson. You love dancing and no matter what your mood is, when music comes on you become a happy little dancing dude. You get your moves from Dad. That’s a good thing!

Your favorite things to do are play outside and play with your brothers and sister. You and Ava are warming up to each other, which is great. Dad and I were a little worried. You love to take anything out of the recycling and throw it around. You’ve also discovered lately you LOVE swimming in Grandpa and Grandma’s pool, which is good, we like to visit there frequently! You also like trying to eat cords. Please stop that, K? Thanks.

You’re very shy and when you’re tired or hungry, there’s no way I’m able to leave your sight. Sometimes it’s exhausting. Sometimes it’s the best feeling in the world. It’s debatable and changes daily.

I can’t wait for you to grow up. But, I miss your fresh baby smell already, too. I look forward to seeing you play more with Dad and your siblings. But, I miss the days the world was silent and it was you and me. Please remember birthdays are the greatest blessing. We get to be your family one more year. We’re so proud of you and love you so much! We love you through and through, yesterday, today, and tomorrow too.

Hugs and kisses Bubbas,

Mama and Dada
